Brisbane Lions vs Adelaide Crows Prediction - Round 7 2026

24/04/2026|Josh Jenkins|AFL Tips & Predictions

Match of the round potential in this one as Brisbane Lions host Adelaide Crows in the sunny Southeast Queensland for Round 7 of the AFL.

Together with three wins and three losses to begin 2026, Brisbane and Adelaide will face off at the Gabba on Sunday afternoon.

Brisbane dropped to that record via last Sunday’s disappointing 104-102 loss to Melbourne at the MCG.

Admittedly, the Dees rose to the occasion with Maxxy Gawn leading the charge, they pulled out some of their best football in years to just out-point the back-to-back champs.

Concerningly for Lions fans, Brisbane have now allowed 100+ points on three occasions this season - something they did just four times in each of the last two campaigns.

Adelaide was on the opposite end of a thrilling Round 6 result, holding off St Kilda 103-102 at the Adelaide Oval despite the absence of Jordan Dawson amid tragic circumstances.

It was another tight contest when these clubs met last season, seeing the hosts triumph 68-63 at the Adelaide Oval due partially to a horribly inaccurate final quarter from the Lions which saw them kick eight behinds to the Crows’ five goals straight.

You won’t even beat Richmond going up by 1’s.

It’s also worth mentioning that Adelaide haven’t secured a win in Brisbane since 2018.

The stakes are high in this one, with the winner jumping into the top eight and the loser being left behind.

Whatever happens on Sunday at the Gabba, it’ll be great to see Cal Ah Chee starting against his old teammates.

Brisbane Lions vs Adelaide Crows Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

This shapes as one to watch with Adelaide desperate to take a scalp and Brisbane needing a win against a decent opponent themselves.

Brisbane is typically the stronger side at home, where their clearance dominance and marking superiority inside 50 make them difficult to beat.

However, their recent form has been patchy, alternating between elite performances and narrow losses.

Adelaide’s on-ball group needs more, but Sam Berry has shown improvement.

While Josh Rachele has the tools and has shown flashes of brilliance, but his performance has also fluctuated this season.

Despite Adelaide’s recent struggles, they have historically played the Lions close; the last five head-to-head meetings have resulted in two wins apiece and a draw.

Brisbane should hold on at home, but with Adelaide’s contested ball game, currently ranked among the best in the league should keep the final margin honest.

Head-to-head prediction: Brisbane Lions by 14 points.

First Goal Scorer Prediction

We’re looking to Charlie Cameron to ignite the Gabba crowd early.

Chucky has been a consistent scoreboard threat in 2026, averaging two goals per game.

His explosive speed and ability to find space in a crowded forward line make him the primary target for the Lions' early entries, especially with Adelaide missing key defensive versatility in Alex Neal-Bullen.

Betting tip: Charlie Cameron.

Most Disposals Prediction

Lachie Neale keeps reminding us every week that he’s still got it. Despite losing the captaincy and ongoing personal dramas, his work on the field is undeniable.

Neale is averaging 29.3 disposals per game this season and the Lions will be looking to the South Australian born Lion to win contests against the Crows.

With Jarrod Berry sidelined by a calf strain, Neale will likely shoulder even more of the clearance work and bigger numbers in this one.

Betting tip: Lachie Neale.
