Port Adelaide Power vs Geelong Prediction - Round 7 2026

24/04/2026|Josh Jenkins|AFL Tips & Predictions

Searching for their sixth straight victory at Adelaide Oval, Geelong take on the Power for Round 7 of the AFL season.

Geelong are yet to play their best footy in 2026, but they seem to have kicked into gear after dishing out some punishment to West Coast and the Dogs.

Jezza Cameron made a statement against the Dogs last week with a seriously impressive 10 goal haul.

Port Adelaide’s defence will be having sleepless nights after watching that one last week, but they’ll surely be devising a plan to contain Geelong’s champion forward.

Meanwhile, Port fell just short of securing a huge upset via their 89-86 loss to Hawthorn at Marvel Stadium, during which Zak Butters maintained his outstanding form with 35 disposals and 16 contested possessions.

Nothing is certain in footy, but one thing we know for sure is that Port’s rookie coach Josh Carr will be under pressure if his team can’t put up a good fight at home on Saturday night.

Port Adelaide Power vs Geelong Cats Match Predictions and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

The Power hung tough and probably should’ve punched victory at Marvel Stadium last week against the up-and-about Hawks.

Aside from a Georgiades miss and magical Nick Watson goals, the Power could’ve stolen one no one expected them to win.

Their rivals here, Geelong, are airborne after destroying the Dogs at GMHBA. Jeremy Cameron exploded into life, while Bailey Smith and Max Holmes continue to pick up 60-odd disposals between them.

Geelong’s recent record in Adelaide is strong, so you’d doubt Port can repeat the dose and go as close as last week.

Head-to-head prediction: Geelong Cats by 23 points.

First Goal Scorer Prediction

It has to go to Jezza Cameron. After a slow start to the season, the champion forward is officially back in form and firing. He kicked a ridiculous 10 goals last week, including seven in the first half alone.

He’ll be brimming with confidence after rocketing up the Coleman Medal leaderboard; expect the Cats to feed the big man early for him to slot the opener in Adelaide.

Betting tip: Jeremy Cameron.

Most Disposals Prediction

Honestly, it’s a toss-up between Bailey Smith and Zak Butters, they are 3rd and 5th respectively in the highest average disposals in 2026.

While Butters is the heart and soul of Port’s engine room, Bazlenka seems to have gone to another level in 2026.

We’re backing the Geelong star to just edge out his Port Adelaide counterpart, given we expect the Cats to control the tempo and win convincingly in this one.

Betting tip: Bailey Smith.
