AFLW Tips and Predictions - Round 10 2026

Round 10 closes out the two-week Pride Round with the top of the AFLW ladder settling as the race for the top eight heats up.
North Melbourne and Geelong are clear on 32 points after seeing off Fremantle and GWS. Melbourne, Gold Coast, Carlton and the Western Bulldogs are all locked on 28, with the Suns the story of the season after beating the Demons 61 to 39 in Mackay for the first time.
Hawthorn hold eighth on 20 points, while Fremantle, Adelaide, West Coast, Port Adelaide and Richmond are jammed on 16 and running out of weeks.
In huge news, Saints finally got there with a 39 to 37 win over Collingwood. Their first win of the season coincided with coach Nick Dal Santo’s last game in charge.

Melbourne Demons vs Richmond Tigers Prediction
Friday, October 16, 7:15pm AEDT - IKON Park, Melbourne
Melbourne lost just their second game this year in Mackay without Kate Hore and Mia Austin, the Suns were simply better. A week off the boil is not a crisis for the Dees, who sit third with Olivia Purcell and Tyla Hanks dominating the midfield.
Richmond, meanwhile, have hit the floor. Adelaide beat them by 32 in Round 9, with 118 more disposals. 10 Tigers finished the match with fewer than 10 touches.
With Mon Conti still likely to be out due to achilles soreness, the Tigers’ ladies likely don’t have the cattle to win this one.
Head-to-head prediction: Melbourne Women.
Adelaide Crows vs Gold Coast Suns Prediction
Saturday, October 17, 1:05pm AEDT - Unley Oval, Adelaide
Adelaide have made finals in eight of 10 AFLW seasons and need to keep winning to continue the success.
Ebony Marinoff leads the entire competition for tackles, averaging 11 per game and added 39 disposals in a stellar performance against Richmond.
Gold Coast are a different proposition now though and will be full of confidence after beating the Dees in Round 9. Charlie Rowbottom is averaging 32 disposals, Daisy D’Arcy and Niamh McLaughlin combined for 23 intercepts off half-back in Mackay and Havana Harris, Ava Usher and Mikayla Nurse all kicked two.
The Suns have beaten Brisbane and Melbourne for the first time in consecutive weeks. We’re not getting off now.
Head-to-head prediction: Gold Coast Women.
Carlton Blues vs Western Bulldogs Prediction
Saturday, October 17, 3:05pm AEDT - IKON Park, Melbourne
Fifth hosts sixth with both on 28 points and just 15 percentage points between them, so the winner takes a serious step towards a top four berth.
Carlton have won three straight and were clinical in the wind at Henson Park, converting 22% of their inside 50s compared to Sydney’s 9%. Though they will be sweating on the availability of skipper Abbie McKay who went down with an ankle injury in the fourth.
The Dogs come off a 43-point win over Essendon with Sarah Hartwig kicking a career-high four and Izzy Pritchard, the league’s leading stoppage-clearance winner, collecting 30 disposals.
A strong contender for match of the round - Carlton to edge this one, but keep an eye on the skipper’s fitness.
Head-to-head prediction: Carlton Women.
Brisbane Lions vs Port Adelaide Power Prediction
Saturday, October 17, 5:05pm AEDT - Brighton Homes Arena, Ipswich
Brisbane’s season is effectively done at 2-7 and the Lions have been fighting a savage injury list for weeks.
Port have quietly won two on the trot, knocking over Adelaide in the Showdown and then ending West Coast’s four-game winning streak in Round 9. Abbey Dowrick was enormous in both and now leads the competition for clearances, averaging eight a game.
It’s a long trip for a side with nothing but pride left to play for, which is exactly why we think Port keep rolling.
Head-to-head prediction: Port Adelaide Women.
West Coast Eagles vs Geelong Cats Prediction
Saturday, October 17, 7:15pm AEDT - Sullivan Logistics Stadium, Perth
West Coast had a four-game winning streak and a Derby drought-breaker to their name before Port pipped them at Alberton. Ella Roberts has been outstanding in the midfield, sitting second in the league for metres gained.
Geelong are a different tier though. Last week’s 63-point win over GWS featured their third-highest half-time score in club history, Chloe Scheer is equal top of the goalkicking with 20 and Jackie Parry is right behind on 19.
Perth is a long way to travel, but the Cats are chasing top spot and clearly know how to convert an opportunity.
Head-to-head prediction: Geelong Women.
Collingwood Magpies vs Sydney Swans Prediction
Sunday, October 18, 12:30pm AEDT - Windy Hill, Melbourne
The first half of the Pride Round double header at Windy Hill and Collingwood arrive in a bad way. They kicked the only two goals of the first half against St Kilda and still lost, then watched skipper Ruby Schleicher leave the ground holding her shoulder.
Sydney have dropped three of their past four and were beaten by 27 at home by Carlton, but they won the inside 50 count 45-39 in that one and simply could not convert.
Against the 16th-placed side, the opportunities should come easier.
Head-to-head prediction: Sydney Women.
GWS Giants vs Hawthorn Hawks Prediction
Sunday, October 18, 2:35pm AEDT - Henson Park, Sydney
Hawthorn have moved clear of the mid-ladder scrum and into eighth, and Aine McDonagh sits clear as the league’s top goal kicker on 21.
Ruck Lucy Wales is having a career-best year and Jenna Richardson’s 58 marks and 80 intercepts have made her one of the competition’s most reliable defenders.
GWS have one win from nine and were beaten by 63 last week. Alyce Parker is third in the league for contested possessions and still can’t drag them into games.
Hawthorn should make it look easy this weekend.
Head-to-head prediction: Hawthorn Women.
Essendon Bombers vs North Melbourne Kangaroos Prediction
Sunday, October 18, 3:05pm AEDT - Windy Hill, Melbourne
Essendon host the ladder leaders at Windy Hill a week after managing 22 points against the Bulldogs, which sums up their year: competitive in patches, unable to score.
North are humming, the outright favourites to win the flag. Jasmine Garner is averaging 32 disposals and gained 554 metres against Fremantle, Ash Riddell leads the competition at 34 touches a game.
Madison Prespakis and Essendon will put up a fight, but this one likely isn’t close.
Head-to-head prediction: North Melbourne Women.
Fremantle Dockers vs St Kilda Prediction
Sunday, October 18, 5:05pm AEDT - Cockburn ARC Oval, Perth
Pride Round signs off with a Saints side playing under interim coach Matthew Brewer, who takes over for the final three games after Nick Dal Santo’s resignation.
They ended an 11-match losing run in his last game, with Tyanna Smith and Jaimee Lambert stepping up in what’s been a tough season.
Fremantle have slipped to ninth and out of the eight after the loss to North Melbourne. With five sides level on 16 points they cannot afford a slip at home.
With the experience of seasoned campaigners like Ange Stannett, Kiara Bowers and Gabrielle Newton, the Dockers should have too much composure for this re-energised Saints outfit.
Head-to-head prediction: Fremantle Women.
Odds are subject to change.*
