XENOPHON (6) ran below expectations last time at Vaal, finishing eighth and beaten 5 lengths starting at $3.50. Goes very well course and distance, leading throughout the last time here. Worth another chance. BELIEVE IN FATE (3) followed an unplaced effort first-up two runs back with a third last start over 1200m at Vaal after being prominent at the turn. Has his share of ability. Hard to beat in this suitable race. AFRICAN PRINCE (5) turned in a decent effort last start to finish second over 1200m at Vaal after being in the firing line on the corner. Looks well placed so expect another big run. STONEYWOOD (12) was far from disgraced when second last start over 1000m at Vaal. That followed a win at Vaal the start prior. Worth plenty of thought.
