THE LAST DUKE (4) is a talented gelding who was well held last time out in the tougher race won by Jerusalema Rain over 1160m at this track, beaten 5.5 lengths into eighth. Has the gate speed to take up a forward position. One of the main contenders. MAX THE MAGICIAN (6) missed the placings two runs back then did well last start but found a couple better over 1600m at Turffontein Inside, beaten only 0.9 lengths. Placed to advantage so anticipating another big run.
