EDDIE THE GREAT (7) failed to run a strong 1710m last start after a close second over 1609m at this track (Turf) the run prior. Looks better placed over this shorter trip so should be in the finish. SOULMATE (9) produced a good run two starts back to finish second but disappointed last time when out of the placings at Woodbine over the same trip. Finds a suitable assignment and can turn things around. QUISTMER (10) turned in a fine effort to score by 2 lengths at today's track and distance when first-up from a layoff last start. Meets some better types this time but he has the talent to test this line-up.
