NEWPORT (5) left behind five disappointing efforts to place third on stable debut in a 4000m Sedgefield novice handicap hurdle. Will be thereabouts once again. MAGIC GLOVES (2) was a good 6L winner on final point-to-point run before placing third providing first start under rules at Kelso. Unable to continue the good form when fourth at Hexham on most recent appearance. Might bounce back. BUNKER BAY (7) delivered first jumps outing since finishing sixth at Sedgefield during January. Needs to improve from a latest sixth on the flat at Newcastle AW. GONNINO (1) cannot be discounted after placing second two back at Perth.
