BENEFICIAL (1) missed the placings two starts back when resuming then ran a better race and finished 12 lengths away in sixth last time out over 1207m at Del Mar after being in contention on the bend. Will enjoy a drop in class so he will be hard to beat. HIGHLAND ECHO (2) missed the frame first-up but looks ready to win now after two straight placings, the latest over 914m at this track (Dirt). Has the pace to be in a prominent position from the outset. Best form puts him right in this. MR AKIN (4) recorded a strong maiden win over 905m at this track (Dirt) last time, getting there by 6 lengths. Sparingly raced and has more to offer. Looks well placed and he cannot be discounted. MESA VERDE (3) comes here off a break of three-and-a-half months. Worth noting it filled a minor placing when returning from a spell last prep over 914m at this track. Yet to win first up but generally runs well with two minor placings from three tries. Worth plenty of thought.
