RUBEE KING (5) made an encouraging debut last time out, finishing 1.2 lengths from the winner in fifth over 1200m at this track. Not beaten far and expecting improvement. Go close. REDFORD (11) is a two-start maiden who looks close to a win after placing at both runs, the latest when second over 1200m at this track. Has good early speed so should take up a forward position. Winning claims on best figures. AFRICAN WILD DOG (3) had support when resuming last time out but never threatened when a disappointing fifth, beaten 6 lengths, over 1000m at this track. Should do much better. BLACKBIRD (10) stepped out on his debut over 1000m at this track seven weeks ago and finished fourth, beaten 8 lengths. Has since finished fourth again here a few days ago and on the quick back-up. Expected to run well.
