Has a fair record when second up, including three top-three finishes. Goes up a rung or two but he is fitter and up to the task. THOUSANDS OF HOPES (8) showed early speed from an outside draw last start and raced on the pace before boxing on well to finish second, beaten half a length, over 1673m at Horseshoe Indianapolis (Dirt). Finds a tougher race but he has the ability to test this field. LOOKOUT KID (9) resumes from a spell of three months. Has filled a minor placing at each of his four first-up runs. Opened last prep with a third over 1609m at this track. Will be thereabouts. STORM BACK (7) finished seventh two runs back then improved last start but found a couple better over 1673m at Belterra Park, beaten 16 lengths. No surprise to see him in contention.
