CHIEF MORTER (5) was out of the money when resuming from a spell last start over 1006m at HAWTHORNE Turf, beaten 14 lengths. Enjoys a drop in grade so he will prove hard to beat. MOUNTAIN MIKE (2) is a three-year-old gelding who is having his first run for the Carlos Ramirez barn. Resumes after finishing sixth at Horseshoe Indianapolis (Dirt) at his last run eight months ago. Hasn't trialled publicly but is in a nice race. Has to be respected.
