Launched last prep with a minor placing at this track over 1000m. Rates on top and is a great chance to break through. ELTON JOHN (7) had been racing well with two consecutive placings before last start managing only ninth over 1300m at this track. Has good early speed so should take up a forward position. Best form puts him right in this. TUSKER (3) last appeared three weeks ago over 1000m at this track when he finished fifth. This is his first run for the Jose Ferreira Reis stable. One of the genuine hopes in the race. BRYAN DA LAGOA (9) finished third at Cristal two runs back but didn't measure up last time over 1000m at this track, finishing 6 lengths back in sixth. Open to improvement and should be about the mark.
