HOWIE'S LAW (6) was an impressive maiden winner last time out, scoring by 7 lengths over 1106m at this track (Dirt). Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. Looks well placed and he is a key runner. GOT'M COT'M (1) finds it hard to win but left a good impression last time out when beaten half a length into second over 1408m at this track (Dirt). Will drift back but wind up late. Will prove tough to beat. PALMER BEACH (2) did very well to fill a minor placing when resuming at Santa Anita but raced below expectations last time over 1408m at this track (Dirt), finishing sixth and beaten 11 lengths. Looks well placed so expect a big run this time. KING STEPHEN (3) was out of the money two runs back when fresh from a spell then again missed the frame last start over 1207m at Santa Anita Turf, beaten 21 lengths into 11th. Likely improver with strong top-three prospects.
