Strong record with Jose Ortiz in the irons, including a win. Should be hard to stop. SPIRIT OF A WALKON (8) finished sixth two runs back then improved last start but found one better over 1609m at Ellis Park, beaten 2.75 lengths after being prominent at the bend. Finds a tougher race but another big run will not surprise. SOUTH BEND TOM (3) started favourite last time over 1408m at Saratoga (Dirt) but could only manage third. Won't be bothered by this longer journey. Sure to be about the money. FERAL (1) comes here following a win over 1609m at Ellis Park five-and-a-half weeks ago, getting home by half a length. Major contender.
