This might prove a decent oppurtunity for VARIETY ACT (5) to get off the mark second time out. The Sir Mark Prescott-trained son of Lope De Vega went down by a neck over 1400m here on debut last November and should have more to offer now stepping up to 1600m. He's preferred over the more experienced GENNADIUS (2) who shaped better than the bare result when sixth over 1200m at this venue a week ago. Richard Hannon's contender has placed on all three starts over 1600m and ought to appreciate going back up in distance. The Waldgeist newcomer HENGIST POD (3) hails from a notable yard and cannot be ignored first time out. DADDY CHILL (1) is next best.
