WESTDAKOTA (3) resumed from a spell last start with a sound third over 1006m at this track (Turf) after being prominent at the corner. Finds a tougher race but a big run will not surprise. SHANCES R (1) made progress last time out, finishing 5 lengths from the winner in second at the end of 1207m at CANTERBURY PARK after being in the firing line on the corner. Looks well placed so expect another big run. SOUTHGATE GATOR (2) was in the money two starts back at CANTERBURY PARK but was unable to repeat the effort last time when sixth, beaten 15 lengths, at CANTERBURY PARK (Dirt) over 1408m. It doesn't get any easier but on his best form he is good enough to take this out. THIRTYNINE TIMBERS (4) produced another moderate effort last start when 14 lengths from the winner in eighth over 1509m at this track. Better than recent efforts suggest.
