On pace runners, 1, 2, 5, 7. CHECKS'N'BALANCES will relish a switch back to the country circuit. He finished unplaced at Newcastle last start but he was anything but disgraced on the day. BE MORE PACFIC must not be harshly judged for an unplaced performance at Coffs Harbour when he had too much to do on the day. ON ME coped admirably with the very heavy conditions on offer at Armidale. He was stepping up to compete within this distance range for the first time and he will have scope to improve with that effort now behind him. STEFFIEWAH is another who can make a mockery of a latest unplaced effort. He was produced on debut at Grafton last start when there were excuses.
