Warm to hot days leading in but possible showers on raceday. Track may remain soft, only time will tell. Kick off this eight race card with a 1000m maiden. Map says 4 will lead, 2 and 5 can be stalking and with the rail out 7m perhaps the winner resides with that trio. A dive into the form-guide and it is easy to come up with TARA'S REWARD and DRAGON LINK. In top yards, namely Jack Bruce and Matthew Hoysted, both horses are 1st-up from a spell. The former is new blood having raced in Victoria, has placed in recent trial here so the track familiarity has been addressed. The latter has been prepped for this with a recent trial win at Deagon, by six lengths and in slick time. May well be a 'good thing'.
