DANI CALIFORNIA had excuses on debut, was gelded, and looked good returning a winner on dry ground. Time was almost 6 lengths quicker than the other maiden over the distance. Runner up has since won easily. VICTORY TUNE can be forgiven metro run two starts back when clipping heels and blundering. Time was fast vs BM70 and winner saluted in Saturday city grade at $1.24. THE WIZARD KING sat three wide outside the leaders on turning track last start. Stuck on well. MAGIC DRUM was an easy winner here on very wet track, but in a run on dry had limited luck against Auckland, who won next two starts.
