The Anderton stable has had a terrific record on this track during the new year, and this gelding has the scope to take the next step immediately. KIWI MAGIC (6) got going late when finishing fifth here last week over 1800m. The extra 200m is ideal, and if he can position himself a couple of pairs closer in the running, then he can win this. VENDABELLE (4) improved steadily and got the run to suit when winning by nearly 2 lengths here last week. She needs a genuine pace to show her best, and she can repeat the dose. OAKSDEEL (3) has found it hard to win another race, and she was a sound third here a week ago. She can cope with any type of track conditions, and another honest effort can be expected. Each way value. KAWATIRI (2) treks to the South Island with the Matt Eales team, and she is worth including in all top 4 combos.
