PERCIVAL (1) went close to breaking through last season, and makes his debut from the Lance Robinson stable, who has produced him to run fourth at a recent trial at Ashburton. If ready, he will be hard to hold out in a modest field. RUFUS (2) failed to stay 2200m here last start, and his efforts over this trip prior are the guides to use. He is expected to be much more competitive this time. STORTFORD LODGE (8) makes her debut from the powerful David Walsh stable, and she has been close up in her only public trial to date. The market will be a very good guide to her chances in a modest field. SAN RENO (9) has yet to show his good trial form on race day, and he blew out quickly after showing a lot of pace to lead here last time out. He has a good gate, and is worth another chance. MANOEUVRE (6) makes her debut as a 5YO mare, and her trial form has been solid enough. Keep her safe.
