Chris Waller has 8 of the 14 and we note he has provided the quinella of this race every year since Anamoe won it in 2022, and the trifecta last year. All but a couple return from a spell but that's always going to be the case with a 1400m G1 on August 22. From the Waller team it's the 'As' that will create plenty of spring headlines. AUTUMN GLOW will be our favourite and given she has lost only once (at a trip she very likely never goes near again) she is an obvious starting point. AUTUMN BOY is faultlessly honest and will win a good race this prep. AELIANA is our current Melbourne Cup favourite and was only narrowly beaten in this race 12 months ago. All that said, SHEZA ALIBI was breathtaking last prep and the fact they make the trip back to Randwick for her return means I simply have to be in her corner, despite a barrier that looks a little 'scary'.
