The main event of the day. The 2026 Kilcoy Cup, a 1200m BM65. No obvious leader, any of no's 6,7,8,10,12,13 could be the pilot if that's their intention. The Neil Hocking trained FIGHTING IDOL is one for one here and that was the 2024 Kilcoy Cup where he was also 3rd-up that day. If they can run on he sure can have a say in the finish. HORRIBLE HANK is two for two here, winning on a soft 6 and good 4 respectively, the latter lumped the grandstand aka 61.5. CANTANKEROUS was unlayable and never a threat when resuming in town, goes okay 2nd-up, makes me think this could have been the target all along. SAPPHIRE REIGN had minor excuses latest when aiming for a hat-trick of wins. Is on trial at the 1200m. BOLD AS BRASS draws the best, placed only prior here, yet there's the rub despite being The Cup no rider has been booked. To date Jai Williams (1) and Jaden Lloyd (2) have brought the horse home a winner, the latter is the most regular rider. A nation waits as do the plethora of owners. After all Cup's don't grow on trees.
