BERTRAND was well fancied on debut, but beaten by one who was backed off the map. Finished 5.2 lengths in front of third. BORN SURVIVOR has a good record distance range and likes firmer tracks. Made a lot of ground in a very hard run race at Cranbourne. Stable has 7st : 5 wins 2 place at this track. Those two dominate the race. SIRGEO'S better recent runs have been on good tracks at 1600m. Solid against Capital Grace at strong venue is better form than most here. ON THE BRINK gets blinkers on for the first time. WITCH'S TREASURE jumped up 400m last start and didn't settle. Chance to place switched off.
