At the time of writing (Friday) the track is rated a soft 5 and with light rain expected today and tomorrow there should be some give in the surface. MONARCHAL placed in his only trial at this track and it looks a good lead that he's been scratched from Eagle Farm in preference to this. EVER SO READY comes from an astute yard and has been placed in both of his trials. NOZOMU worked home okay over 1000m at his metro debut and should appreciate the rise to 1200m. KING'S DIAMOND was never likely at his first attempt but this looks an easier assignment.
