MARRON knuckled at the start then fired up during the running in city debut, so run better than it looks with wide margin from first two over rivals. Still made ground. Winner since won easily up in grade. Feel rise in distance and soft draw help. SAINT FOX just had to steady when the winner rolled in on him in straight on debut, but liked the way he picked up again. Winner is promising so backing the form holds up. Race experience here a plus. DIESEL DESMOND comes off a long break (given time to mature), but looked sharp powering home late in Murtoa Heavy8 jumpout over 900m and will be much better suited over this distance. Ran strong last 600m last run at Donald on Good track, but might be better on wet. D Lane engagement positive indicator. JUST LIKE JAGGER ran well here on debut on Heavy 8 and just missed in a three way go for the line last start when coming off a six week break. Sure to improve. TALKIN' STERN ran well first up from a spell on a Soft7 surface over 1425m so fitness levels must be good. Vet noted internal bled post race.
