A rare Sunday meeting at Gatton. BOM is forecasting enough showers leading in for this track to remain soft. Kick things off with an 860m Maiden Hcp. Only ten can run. No's 2,8,9 look to be the pace. As things stand four will be on debut, three will be 1st-up from a spell. Race can revolve around the resuming new blood RHETORIC which hitherto has plied its trade in NSW. No public trials leading in, all eyes to the market for a clue to what Ray Dart expects. All newcomers have had at least one trial. LUCKY MAN also resumes without a public trial so it too is quite the market watch. Re the newcomers, all have had at least one public trial. Most likely RED HOT MAGIC is the pick of them although SHALAA STRIKE has only trialed in Victoria.
