WAITAK (1) has been racing in top form in elite company all season, and even though he was only seventh last start in the G1 Zabeel Classic just over 8 weeks ago, nothing went his way. Dropping back to a mile is ideal, and he can bounce back and win this race. EL VENCEDOR (2) has not been able to find the front in his last 3 starts, and he has not been the same. He is likely to push forward early on, and he is too good to drop yet. TUXEDO (5) was too strong third up from a spell when winning by a head in a tough performance here 4 weeks ago in the Aotearoa Classic. He wouldn't mind some cut in the track, and he can repeat the dose. STERLING EXPRESS (3) was much better when charging home last to finish runner-up in the G1 BCD Group Sprint over 1400m He will relish getting out to a mile, and he can have the last say in this. PROVENCE (7) won the G1 Mufhasa Classic by a nose at Trentham 3 starts back. She has 1400m too short recently, and she is worth another chance.
