On pace runners, 1, 3, 6, 8. D'ORO CHOICE kept trying in defeat on the Beaumont track at Newcastle with Liberty Smyth aboard last start. He can make his presence felt here with numerous gear changes made and with Liberty retaining the ride. GODWITS attempted to lead throughout when he withstood the challenge from all except the winner last start at Bathurst. Similar tactics are likely to be adopted this afternoon. TAVIJEWEL must be forgiven for an unplaced effort when he was competing in the same Bathurst race as GODWITS, COTO DE CAZA and LADY TINO last start. There were excuses! COTO DE CAZA handed in an honest effort at Bathurst when he indicated that stepping up from 2000m will now be a plus!
