Good depth but ZENTORNO trialled strongly with trainer Patrick Payne in the saddle just bloused. Winner was Christine Puls for a weight comparison. Went forward got grabbed on the line but after the line put three lengths on them in a twinkling. Easy winner first up this same trip last preparation. Competitive with Different Gravy in stakes class in the spring. Jockey trainer winning strike rate 31%. HEIWANA TAMASHI pulled up lame in the off foreleg first up . First three were clear and still beat fourth by 3.5 lengths. Thought there was good depth to that race. CHATEAU VEGA (2nd emergency) made good late ground when resuming and will be suited over the longer trip. Improved nicely second-up in her initial preparation. ALZARO has had one run away from metro races in last five starts and placed over 1200m in good time at Pakenham. Forget last run at Caulfield when cleaned up at 200m and eased down. DEADLY PRESS wan't in the best ground last start, but ran strong splits from the 800m to the 400m. STRIKE GOLD has had excuses in all recent starts. Has the pace to use the draw and gets a good 3kg claim. Jumped out strongly here over 800m on wet ground. GISELLA (4th emergency) ran the best last 800 & 600m of her race last start running strong splits.
