HEY JUDE (4) did a mighty job on debut last time out, finishing 2 lengths from the winner in third over 1800m at this track after giving away a huge start in the early and middle stages. Leading player with plenty of improvement in store. PLAY THE LEAD (14) ran below expectations last time at Nakayama, finishing sixth and beaten 5 lengths starting at $4. Very good in two runs prior to that so worth forgiving. GUARD OF HONOUR (6) missed the placings two runs back then didn't feature last start when 9 lengths away in 11th over 2000m at Nakayama. Finds a nice race and can play a significant role. NIGHT BIRD (3) is a two-start maiden who finished seventh, beaten 3 lengths, when resuming from a spell last start over 2000m at Nakayama. Definite top-three hope with plenty of improvement to come.
