KEIAI ELNATH (1) built on a nice third two starts back at this track with a win over 1600m at this track a week-and-a-half ago, getting home by 2 lengths. Meeting a deeper field this time but he deserves plenty of thought. SURUGA DAINAGON (11) is yet to break through in 13 runs. Finished sixth at his last appearance over 2000m at this track on December 26. Likely to be in the finish in this suitable assignment. HIRUNO DE PLAATS (7) has not won for a long while. Last raced on December 13 when beaten 13 lengths into 14th at Hanshin Dirt over 2000m. Ideally placed and is sure to take a ton of beating. COCONUT GARDEN (4) was in contention on the turn and finished third last time over 1600m at this track when resuming from a spell, beaten 8 lengths. Nicely placed to go a couple better.
