LAHORE (2) settled midfield over this course and distance last start and was far too good, running away to win by 2.5L. Will need a touch of luck from the barrier draw, but Purton sticks with him and if he can run up to his latest effort, he can repeat the dose. DOUBLE ALPHA (4) was strong on debut, sitting just off the speed and only finishing 0.5L off the winner. He'll be better for that effort and drawing out wide again here is a big tick for his chances. Appears the main danger with natural improvement likely. HANDSOME HERO (9) has been impressive at the trials coming into this after starting his career with John Sargent in Australia. He trialled around some handy types before going to HK and his past couple outings have been strong. Drawn nicely for the straight course and can make his presence felt. BETTER AND BETTER (13) is building nicely and jumped the $2.50 favourite over further last time out. Back to 1000m now and can feature in the finish again.
