HERO MASTERMIND (2) looks a smart one on debut for the Newnham stable. Purton doesn't stick with him after being on board for his recent trials, but Bowman is a handy booking. His latest trial was strong and drawn out wide should suit. Can make his presence felt on debut. PRIME WINISTER (4) is another who has shown promising signs at the trial, racing well down the Conghua straight in those heats. May need a touch of luck from the barrier but his trials have suggested he's up to the mark. INVICTUS (8) comes right back to 1000m today with the booking of Purton. Creates some interest.
