THE WILD CHIEF (2) is the horse to beat off the strength of his narrow second to Mr Hooper at this venue two runs back, and his broader record at the 1400m range gives him the most reliable winning profile despite a plain sixth last time. FAMOUS NAME (8) is the clear danger if he rebounds from his latest seventh; his previous second as favourite behind Happy Warrior showed he is still racing well enough to win a Class 5 of this shape. LEISBOBO (4) is harder to trust on exposed figures, being a maiden from 11 starts, but he was only beaten just over five lengths last start and has at least placed at around this trip. JING JIN (6) was poor first-up, yet his earlier second in Open grade behind Golden Lightning reads well for this and a sharper showing second-up would put him right in the contest.
