SANONO KISEKI (4) is a two-start maiden who looks close to a win after placing at both runs, the latest when third over 1800m at Fukushima. Should be poised just off the lead. Best form puts him right in this. DESERT SPIRIT (9) will find this a little easier than his second on debut seven weeks ago, beaten 1.3 lengths at the end of 1400m at Tokyo. Sure to take a lot from that hitout so he should pay to follow. NODUS (7) faced the starter for the first time and finished 12th last start at Tokyo over 1800m, beaten 11 lengths. Better for that run and can improve sharply. VENTO RINA (5) turned in a moderate effort on debut last start when fourth at Tokyo over 1800m, beaten 4.5 lengths. Looks well placed here and has to be respected.
