Anticipating a bright start to the new phase of his career. GOLDEN STEP (9) resumed after a spell last start with a modest ninth in a maiden steeplechase (2880m) at Nakayama. Will come on from that run and is worth considering. RUN FOR SMILE (2) returned from a spell last start and was on debut over the jumps. Could only manage fifth on that occasion in a maiden steeplechase (2890m) at this track. That run came after a switch to the Daisuke Akimoto yard. Can improve.
