Looks a contest in two. CARNOUSTIE (8) is back from a spell after closing last campaign with a couple of wins, the latest over 1200m at Fukushima on July 5. Goes well at this journey with two wins and two placings from five starts. Lightly raced galloper with a great strike-rate. Leading rider back aboard and expected to go close. FUKUCHAN SHO (5) is a talented colt who tackled a tougher race at his last run on May 10 and finished 15th behind Rodeo Drive over 1600m in the G1 NHK Mile Cup at Tokyo. Goes well fresh and won only try course and distance. Should be right in the finish. POD LOIRE (9) last raced just eight days ago when fifth over 1400m at Chukyo. No surprise to see him back in form this time. RUH (7) has not won for a long while. Last raced on July 25 when beaten 2.5 lengths into fourth at Sapporo over 1200m. Can turn things around.
