LIGAND (6) was sent out favourite last time and scored by a head at this track. Has a good record at this course and distance, including a win and three placings. Yamato Ishikawa sticks. Should be hard to stop. SOL DAYSTAR (8) debuted with a win two runs ago. Not disgraced last time out when in contention on the bend before winding up in second over 1700m at this track, beaten 1.5 lengths. Finds a tougher race but a better run will not surprise. SHIFT CHANGE (4) produced a reasonable effort after being in contention on the bend to finish 2.25 lengths away in third last start over 1700m at this track. That followed a win on debut at this track. It doesn't get any easier but on his best form he is one of the chief contenders. TARUMAE DON (5) scored last start at this track to make it two wins from four starts this campaign. Has a high cruising speed. In the mix.
