THUNDER BIRD (9) remains a maiden after five runs. Met with plenty of support last time but could only manage to finish tenth over 1800m at Kyoto. Drew off the track last time after a strong return. Has the ability to take this out. MONT ROYAL (5) was in the money two starts back at Fukushima then missed the frame but was not too far away last time over 1800m at Niigata. Will drift back but wind up late. Shapes as one of the top chances. BRANCH OUT (1) went forward last time and looked a chance on the corner but tired to finish fourth over 1600m at Hanshin. Cannot be ruled out in this suitable assignment. ENGLEMAN (8) ran a fair race on debut last time out, beaten 6 lengths into seventh over 1800m at Niigata on May 16. Shapes as one to consider.
