MICHAEL BAROWS (8) hit the frame when resuming two runs back at Kyoto but couldn't back it up last start when ninth, beaten 4.5 lengths, over 1200m at Hanshin after pushing forward from a wide gate. Has his share of talent. Hard to beat. NIL MAHANEL (12) is back after a break of 12 weeks. Started the last campaign impressively when in the placings over 1200m at Nakayama. Yet to win first up but generally runs well with three minor placings from three tries. Has ability and should be right in the finish. LEO AGILE (9) showed good early speed and raced on the pace last start before fading to finish seventh, beaten 6 lengths, over 1400m at Tokyo. Will push forward and is among the chances. D'S MEMPHIS (6) turned in a fine effort to score by 1.3 lengths at this course and distance last start in a much improved run. Finds a tougher race but another big run will not surprise.
