LORD VERDE (8) has been competitive of late and kept the ball rolling last time when fourth from this same barrier at Albury. Had looked close to a win when recording back-to-back seconds prior. Can settle just behind them and wait on the sprint lane if needed so could grab a well-deserved win. THE LADYBIRD (3) started favourite but clocked in midfield at Mildura last time out. Should enjoy a nice run from this favourable starting position so is worth another chance. SKADI (6) has been good from the back row in her last two outings, placing at Maryborough before a fourth at Melton. Race fit now and could be close to a win. PRINCESS ALEXANDRA (4) will be fitter for a resuming fourth from this barrier last week at Horsham.
