SHARK DANCER (5) was a beaten favourite last start but came from the back row so was far from disgraced. Good effort to go under by just a head at this circuit and distance prior. Can bounce back. The recent form of RIO DE JANEIRO BLUE (1) may not leap off the page but he has been tackling higher-graded races and coming from wider barriers. Expect him to be prominent from the ace draw. ED MENDES (8) was an easy winner at this circuit and distance last month is looming as a threat after another good effort last start, finishing second at Goulburn. PETES BIG JIM (10) is in the mix following a respectable second from this same barrier at his most recent appearance here.
