There was merit in the resuming effort of MADRIGAL (5) when beaten 5.4 metres in a higher-graded race at Melton. Strikes at 50 per cent when second-up so should be improved and looks nicely placed in this line-up as does GRINNING BEACH BOY (6) who was beaten only narrowly as runner-up at Hamilton last time and is two from two at this circuit and distance, scoring from this barrier last time. Could maintain that perfect record. OCEAN AVENUE (1) gets the ace draw and is looming as a real threat after coming from very wide for third at Terang last week. A good draw also brings EASTBRO KOZZY (2) into calculations.
