SNAKE OIL (8) made mistakes on debut but showed what he is capable of at his latest appearance, overcoming the extreme outside barrier for an impressive win by 11 metres at Menangle. Up in class but looks to have plenty of talent so could work through his grades now. JAKOB (6) resumes after eight months but showed ability in a two-start maiden campaign for a win and a second at Wagga. Likely to have developed with maturity and should be ready to go after placing in two recent trials. SURF ACE (9) has been competitive of late and kept the ball rolling last time when 5.5 metres from the winner in second at this circuit and distance. If things go his way from the second line he could break through. HIGHLANDS WARRIOR (1) won the last time he started from this barrier and while he hasn't raced for a month he was kept up to the mark with a trial win.
