LENARD ESS (3) overcame a wider draw to find winning form a week ago, getting home by almost 5 metres at Melton. Up in grade but draws lower and owns a good record at this circuit and distance so could strike again. CALEDONIAN RANGER (4) is racing consistently. Added to a string of top-four finishes when third here two starts back then was competitive again from this barrier at his latest appearance at Ballarat, beaten 5 metres into third after being up on the pace. Good enough to take out a race like this. HELLOVASTORY (9) may need some luck from the back row but should be at his peak for this and is going well, winning two back before clocking in second at the latest appearance. COLOSIMO (10) has won a trial since the last outing and cannot be left out after putting together a string of top-four results.
