THE MOUNTAIN (7) has had two runs this prep without filling a placing but showed good improvement last time when fourth at Ararat. Draws wider but eases back in grade and should be close to peak fitness now. SIR CANDY CLOUD (8) had no luck from a tough draw in a stronger race last start but came from this barrier when winning three back at Ballarat. Has a sprint lane to rely on here. Big chance. PICKLE IT (5) has taken on stronger company in two Melton outings off a spell and did manage a fresh placing. This suits better and he is building in fitness. ETIZ AMODEL (2) will be fitter for recent racing and draws well so could show more.
