CAPTAINS KNOCK (5) comes off a rare unplaced result but he has dominated this Carnival of Cups series so far, winning the first two races. They were part of a string of six wins he put together late last year and he has raced here three times for a win and placings in an Inter Dominion heat and the Shirley Turnbull Memorial. Has the early speed to cross the small field so can return to the winners' list. MAX DELIGHT (6) looks the danger having produced a nice effort off a seven-week let-up when fourth at Menangle last time. Had chased Captains Knock in his previous four outings, placing in two of them. He'll need to lift to turn the tables but he is a reliable customer. Big class jump for FASHION ICON (2) but he is racing well, recording three wins and two placings from five starts this time in. He draws well so could be competitive. KANENA PROVLIMA (4) will be fitter second-up and he won the Shepparton Cup over 2690m this time last year so is capable when at his best.
