McGregor has no fight booked. He tore his ACL 69 seconds into his comeback at UFC 329, and the UFC won't discuss what's next until he's cleared.

Conor McGregor does not have a next fight booked. No opponent, no date, no event. He returned at UFC 329 on 11 July 2026 after five years out, lasted 69 seconds against Max Holloway, and tore the ACL and meniscus in his right knee.

He is still to undergo surgery. Dana White has refused to name an opponent or a timeline until McGregor is medically cleared.

McGregor threw an early jumping kick, landed badly and tried to continue before referee Mike Beltran waved it off. It was his first fight since UFC 264 in July 2021, when he broke his leg against Dustin Poirier.

Why There's No Fight Booked

McGregor confirmed the diagnosis himself on 19 July: torn ACL and torn meniscus, the same injury he suffered in the first Holloway fight but on the opposite leg.

He announced on 12 July that surgery was coming, posting "Surgery. Prehab. Return to martial arts practice. Go again."

Dana White has shut the topic down. Speaking after UFC Fight Night Oklahoma City on 18 July, he said McGregor needed knee surgery, that he would be out, and that until then it wasn't even worth discussing.

He had already dismissed a Holloway trilogy the day before, and has publicly questioned whether McGregor still wants it, noting that Father Time is undefeated.

That's the whole state of play. No opponent has been named by the UFC.

When Could McGregor Fight Again?

McGregor's own estimate is roughly a year, targeting summer 2027. He has said modern regenerative medicine and improved rehab methods make that realistic, and points out he returned inside nine months from a similar injury before.

Treat that as his ambition rather than a schedule. It is not a UFC timeline, and the promotion has said it won't plan anything until his doctors clear him.

Rule out two things doing the rounds. The UFC White House card has already happened, on 14 June 2026, and McGregor was left off it back in March.

White has since said the event was a one-off that will never be repeated. And the long-rumoured Logan Paul boxing match has never been signed.

Conor McGregor's Record and Form

McGregor is 22-7. He has lost three in a row, to Poirier twice and now Holloway, and has not won a fight since he stopped Donald Cerrone in January 2020. That's six and a half years without a victory.

He also served an 18-month anti-doping sanction for three whereabouts failures, which ran from September 2024 to March 2026. That's complete, and he was cleared to compete at UFC 329.

The gap between his last win and now is the number that matters most for anyone assessing his markets. He turned 38 in July 2026 and is coming off major knee surgery.

With no bout booked, there's no fight market to price. What tends to appear in the meantime are novelty and futures markets: whether he fights again at all in a given calendar year, which division he returns in, and who he faces first. 

Those go up and come down as news moves.

Once a fight is announced, the markets that will matter are the method of victory and total rounds. 

McGregor is a knockout fighter whose wins come early and whose last four appearances have all ended inside the distance, three of them against him. Fights involving him rarely reach the scorecards.
