UFC Fight Night: Adesanya vs Imavov Preview

30/01/2025|SB Staff| UFC Tips & Predictions

We’re heading back to the desert for another stacked UFC Fight Night. Headlined by Israel Adesanya vs Nassourdine Imavov, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s capital will play host to what is sure to be a festival of flying fists.

With supporting fights featuring the likes of Shara Magomedov, Michael Page, Sergi Pavloich and more, UFC Fight Night: Adesanya vs Imavov, is simply not to be missed.

For the latest analysis, odds, predictions and betting tips, check out our UFC Fight Night: Adesanya vs Imavov Preview below.

Israel Adesanya vs Nassourdine Imavov Prediction

What a matchup we have here. A compelling contest between two high-level kickboxers awaits here, as both Adesanya and Imavov duke it out, potentially for the next title shot at middleweight.

Not the force he once was, Adesanya is bouncing back from a competitive loss to the current champion Du Plessis, whilst Imavov is riding a strong 3 fight win streak against the likes of Brendan Allen, Jared Cannonier and Roman Dolidze.

Whilst both fighters are primarily strikers, Imavov is probably the guy who is more likely to mix in the grappling to break up Adesanya's rhythm.

Even though both men are approximately the same height, there is a surprisingly large reach advantage for Issy. He possesses an 80-inch reach compared to Nassourdine's which only extends to 75.

Adding further to Adesanya’s advantage here is the fact that Imavov has historically been vulnerable to leg kicks and can get frustrated against more patient fighters. Both of these are Issy in spades.

If we see a comparative version of the Issy that fought Du Plessis, we expect his movement and long-range striking to prove too tricky of a puzzle for Imavov to solve.

Prediction: Israel Adesanya.

Method of victory betting tip: Unanimous decision.

Shara Magomedov vs Michael Page Prediction

A real fan favourite match-up here between two of the UFC's most entertaining fighters, Shara Magomedov and Michael Page.

Magomedov is undefeated at 15-0 and riding a four-fight win streak since entering the promotion, while Page is 1-1 in his last two showings.

This record stands after a decisive victory over Holland followed by a difficult defeat to Ian Garry.

We expect Page's experience, speed and unique style to prove too much for Shara - who doesn't possess the necessary grappling credentials to drag Page down to the canvas, if his striking is being nullified.

Yes, Shara's run is impressive, but there's a clear difference in the level between these two guys

Page's striking in his hard-fought loss to Ian Garry showed he's very much got it on the feet, and he should prove that again here, albeit with a different result.

Prediction: Michael Page.

Method of victory betting tip: Split decision.

Sergei Pavlovich vs Jairzinho Rozenstruik Prediction

Do you want fireworks? You’ve got them. Can you expect anything else between these two top-tier heavyweights?

Pavlovich is a sizeable favourite, and rightly so. Prior to his close decision loss to Volkov, he was being heralded as the next guy to topple the division's champs Aspinal and Jones. Look to him to return here with a vengeance after that frustrating loss.

While Rozenstruik is riding a two-fight win streak over the likes of Aussie Tai Tuivasa and Shamil Gasiev, Sergei is a considerable step up in competition from those two.

Pavlovich’s overwhelming size and speed advantage should prove too much here for Jairzinho, particularly when coupled with his technical boxing skills and one-punch knockout power

Prediction: Sergi Pavlovich.

Method of victory betting tip: Round 1 KO/TKO.

How to Watch UFC Fight Night in Australia

In Australia, the UFC streams on the UFC Fight Pass. This subscription allows fight fans Down Under to soak up all the action.

Pay-per-view UFC events as well as other UFC events are also available in Australia on streaming service Kayo Sports.

You can watch the UFC Fight Night: Adesanya vs Imavov in Australia on either of these platforms.

What Time is UFC Fight Night?

Date: Saturday, February 1, 2025.

Start time: 6:00am AEDT.

Location: The Venue, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Where to watch: UFC Fight Pass and Kayo Sports.

Not available in SA.
